Grilled Chicken Sausage, Onions, and Pepper Sandwich

Description

A low fat grilled chicken sausage with grilled onions and peppers on a toasted Italian bread!

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Onion, Sliced Thin
  • 3 whole Peppers
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • 6 whole Chicken Sausages
  • 6 loaves (Individual Size) Italian Bread
  • Balsamic Vinegar And/or Light Butter, For The Bread (optional)

Preparation

Preheat grill to medium heat.

Spray sliced onions and whole peppers with nonstick cooking spray. Season with oregano, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Place veggies on grill and turn occasionally until cooked through, usually no more than 15 minutes.

Place chicken sausages on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, until cooked through, about 10–12 minutes. Add bread and grill until lightly toasted.

If desired, drizzle bread with balsamic vinegar or spread with butter. Add sausages, onions, and peppers. Serve.
