Description
A handmade turkey burger with a sauteed mushroom base.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Lean Ground Turkey
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Garlic, Minced
- ¼ cups Green Onion, Finely Diced
- 3 Tablespoons Ketchup
- 3 Tablespoons Breadcrumbs
- ½ cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Salt And Black Pepper To Taste
- 2 teaspoons Vegetable Oil
- 2 cups White Onion, Diced
- 3 cups Cremini Mushrooms, Sliced
- 2 teaspoons Garlic, Chopped
- 2 cups Spinach, Shredded
- 1 Medium Golden Delicious Apple, Cored And Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
- Sweet Relish Or Dijon Mustard For Spread (optional)
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
2. Combine turkey, egg, minced garlic, green onion, ketchup, breadcrumbs, cheese, salt and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix together and pat into four equal-sized burgers. Put them onto a rimmed baking tray.
3. Bake for 15 minutes.
4. In a large skillet heat up the vegetable oil.
5. Add cooking onion and saute for three minutes, then add mushrooms and chopped garlic and saute an additional 5 minutes until mushrooms are cooked, stirring as you go.
6. Add spinach and apples and saute until soft, about two minutes. Add soy sauce, salt and pepper and cook one more minute, stirring as you go.
7. Place sauteed mushroom mixture on your plates and top with a burger. Spread on some relish or mustard if desired.
