Description
This Ground Turkey Casserole has everything you can possibly want. It’s comforting, filling, delicious, and really easy to throw together!
Ingredients
- 8 ounces, weight Fusilli, Penne, Or Other Short Pasta You Like
- 3 slices Bacon, Diced
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 1 pound Mushrooms, Sliced
- 1 Medium Onion, Chopped
- 2 teaspoons Poultry Seasoning
- ½ cups White Wine
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- ½ cups Heavy Cream
- ½ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
- 2 cups Shredded Gruyère Cheese
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- Chopped Fresh Parsley, For Sprinkling
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a a 3-quart casserole with a cooking spray.
Prepare pasta according to instructions. Drain, and put in the casserole dish.
In a large skillet, fry bacon until crisp. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
In the same skillet, cook ground turkey until done. Push meat to the side and add mushrooms and chopped onion. Cook for about 4–5 minutes. Mix mushrooms and onions with ground turkey. Add some salt, pepper, and poultry seasonin. Cook for 3 minutes more and transfer all the mixture to the casserole dish, including the cooked bacon. Mix well.
In the same pan, add wine, broth, heavy cream, and bring to a boil. Stir until sauce has reduced to 1 cup. Season with ground nutmeg.
Pour the sauce over the contents of the casserole and mix once again. Finish by topping with the Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs.
Bake for about 15 minutes. When done, top with the chopped parsley.
