Description
This is a combination of several recipes. I’ve doctored it to our tastes. I use a homemade pie crust, because it’s so easy and tastes great; a store-prepared crust would work just as well.
Ingredients
- 2 whole Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese
- 3 dashes Nutmeg
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 8 ounces, weight Cooked, Diced Meat (we Prefer Boar’s Head Black Forest Ham)
- 1 whole Uncooked Pie Crust
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
Preparation
Combine eggs, milk, cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper, and meat. Pour into crust. Brown butter by heating it in a small saucepan until browned but not smoking. Pour over the top of the egg mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-60 minutes, until set in the center.
