Description
Tastes indulgent, but your waistline will thank you! This hot chocolate is so versatile. Omit the cinnamon for your standard variety, omit the whipped cream for dairy-free, or add coffee liqueur for a festive cold-weather cocktail.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Dark Chocolate Almond Milk
- 1 Tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon, Plus More For Garnish
- 1-½ ounce, fluid Coffee Liqueur, Like Kahlua (optional)
- Optional For Garnish: Whipped Cream
Preparation
1. Pour almond milk into a small saucepan on the stove top and heat slowly over low heat.
2. When milk is hot whisk in cocoa powder and cinnamon until smooth.
3. Hot chocolate is done when you just barely notice small bubbles around the edges of the saucepan and the hot chocolate becomes frothy.
4. Ladle out hot chocolate into mugs. Stir in coffee liqueur, if using. Garnish with whipped cream and a shake of ground cinnamon (if you are looking for a dairy-free recipe, omit the whipped cream).
