Description
This is the most refreshing drink for a hot summer day or any day for that matter! It’s light and cool and then you get a little zip of mint and basil at the end. It’s perfect for lunch with the ladies, wedding or baby showers, etc.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Sugar
- 3 cups Water, Divided
- ½ cups Mint Leaves, Washed And Stemmed
- ½ cups Basil Leaves, Washed And Stemmed
- 2 cups Fresh Lemon Juice (12-15 Lemons)
Preparation
Place sugar, 1 cup water, basil and mint in a pot and simmer for 5 minutes or until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside to cool. Strain out the herbs, pressing on them to remove all simple syrup.
Pour remaining 2 cups water, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a pitcher. Stir and pour over ice in glasses.
