Ingredients
- 1 piece (4-inch Size) Fresh Ginger, Sliced Thin
- 5 sticks Cinnamon
- ½ whole Nutmeg
- 1 Tablespoon Peppercorns
- 12 Cardamom Pods
- ¾ teaspoons Whole Cloves
- ½ teaspoons Whole Allspice
- 6 cups Water
- 8 Black Tea Bags
- 2 cups Whole Milk
- ½ cups Packed Light Brown Sugar
Preparation
Place ginger, cinnamon sticks, and nutmeg in a 3-quart saucepan. Put the remaining spices in a heavy-duty zip-top bag. Lightly crush with a mallet or rolling pin. Add the crushed spices to the pan. Add the water. Heat over medium-high until the water comes to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat, add the eat bags, and steep 4 minutes. Strain the tea, discarding the bags and spices. Return the tea to the pan and whisk in the milk and brown sugar. Heat over medium, whisking occasionally, until the milk is hot and the sugar has dissolved.
Serve immediately.
