Description

Making your own homemade apple cider is super easy when using a crockpot! It’s as easy throwing in all the ingredients and let them soak for 14 hours. Seriously, could it get any easier?

Ingredients

  • 4 sticks Cinnamon
  • 10 whole Cloves
  • 10 whole Cardamom Pods
  • ¼ bulbs Ginger
  • 2 teaspoons Allspice
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 3 whole Granny Smith Apples
  • 7 whole Honey Crisp Apples
  • 3 whole Blood Oranges

Preparation

Place all spices (except allspice) in cheesecloth and place at the bottom of the crockpot.

Peel ginger, cut into a few pieces and place at the bottom of the crockpot with the spices. Cover spice mixture with allspice, honey, and brown sugar.

Cut apples and oranges and place in crockpot. Cover with water until it just covers the apples (about 8 cups).

Place crockpot on low for 14 hours.

Take out all apples and place into blender and puree. Meanwhile, place remaining liquid through a sifter into a large bowl to filter every ingredient but the remaining liquid. Then run the apple puree through the sifter as well.

Taste and add more brown sugar to your liking. Serve!
