Description

If you’re looking for that special little something to welcome guests to your next party, and if you need a good excuse to buy some of those red and white paper straws that are so very popular on Pinterest and if you happen to be looking for a good reason to keep that arched candle holder that holds a gazillion tea lights, then these adorable little shakes are here to save the day!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Ice
  • 4 cups Warm Water
  • 2 cups Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 3 cups Dreyer’s Slow Churned Coffee Ice Cream

Preparation

First, place the into a blender and cover with the warm water. Blend until slush. Use a tamper for this but if you don’t have one, just stop the blending every once in a while to shift the ice around so it doesn’t get stuck.

Drain the water out as much as you can. Pour the Bailey’s Irish Cream over the ice. Add the Dreyer’s Slow Churned Coffee Ice Cream. (I use Dreyer’s Slow Churned because it has great flavor and has been slow churned. Ice cream that is not slow churned is airy and would become frothy in the shake.)

Blend on low and raise speed only as needed. Blend until all ingredients are mixed together.

Next find every adorable mini glass or food safe tea light candle holder you own and fill with your delicious shakes. It’s okay if the glasses don’t match. That’s part of the charm—at least that’s what my friends have said.

Pull out your dusty candle holder and clean it well. Next, figure out which glasses will fit inside the candle holders. Buy some of those life-changing red and white paper straws everyone is using and cut a bunch of them in half. Finally, find some festive red and white polka dot napkins (I do love polka dots) to match, string some lights and ornaments and voilà! The perfect greeting for your guests.

If you would like to make nonalcoholic shakes, just substitute the Bailey’s with some store bought Starbucks Frappaccino.
