Description
This beautiful mint simple syrup infused with fresh garden mint is so easy and it really turns out delicious. It smells like candy—yummy, sweet mint candy! Wonderful for cocktails or mocktails!
Ingredients
- ½ cups Sugar
- ½ cups Water
- 8 whole Large Fresh Mint Leaves
Preparation
In a small pot, combine the sugar and the water. Add the mint leaves. Bring to a simmer, gently swirling the pot to cover the mint leaves. Simmer for about 1-2 minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool just enough to get it into a blender.
VERY carefully puree the mixture on high until the mint leaves release all of their juice into the simple syrup. Pour the mint simple syrup through a small strainer and into a jar or heat proof bowl. Discard the mint solids.
Refrigerate until ready to use. This should last a few weeks in an airtight container in the fridge.
