Orange-Basil Cream Cheese Frosting

    Description

    Scrumptious for just about any baked treat you may be preparing.

    Ingredients

    • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
    • ½ sticks Lightly Salted Butter, Room Temperature
    • 1-½ teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
    • 1 Tablespoon Orange Zest
    • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Basil, Finely Chopped
    • 4 cups Confectioners Sugar

    Preparation

    In a mixing bowl using a hand mixer or a stand mixer with paddle attachment, add cream cheese and butter. Mix on low speed. Add vanilla, orange zest and basil and continue to mix on low. Slowly incorporate 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar at a time. Once all sugar has been added and incorporated, run mixer on high several minutes until frosting reaches a creamy consistency.

    Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. I just used this on an orange sheet pan cake and it was a huge hit! Hope you’ll enjoy!
