Ingredients
- 1 whole Yellow Onion, Thinly Sliced
- 1 pound Pizza Dough
- 1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- ¼ teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 1 pinch Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Thyme, Chopped
- ½ cups Smoked Gouda, Shredded
- ½ cups Part Skim Mozzarella, Shredded
- ¼ cups Gorgonzola, Crumbled
- 1 whole Pear, Cored And Thinly Sliced
- 3 pieces Prosciutto, Rolled Up And Thinly Sliced
- Baking Spray
Preparation
Preheat oven to 450 F. Spray a baking sheet or pizza stone with cooking spray.
Generously spray a medium sized skillet with cooking spray and heat it over medium high heat. Add the sliced onion and cook the onion until it softens and turns golden brown (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat.
Roll out the pizza dough and place it onto the sheet or stone. Brush the olive oil all over the top of the dough, then sprinkle on the salt, pepper and the fresh thyme. Sprinkle the onions, shredded cheeses and Gorgonzola crumbles all over the pizza.
Finish the pizza by placing the slices of pear and prosciutto evenly over the top of the pizza. Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes or until it is bubbly and golden. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
Notes: If you don’t like smoked Gouda, regular Gouda or more mozzarella may be used instead.
