Description
Pear & Vanilla Bean Honey is great on a bagel or draped over ice cream. Super fast to make and tastes amazing.
Ingredients
- 3 whole Pears, Quartered
- ½ cups Water
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1 whole Vanilla Bean, Split And Seeds Removed
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
Preparation
1. In a medium-sized pot, add the pears and water. Bring to a boil and then turn down and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the pears are very soft.
2. Pass the pears and cooking liquid through a food mill. Add to a clean pot along with the sugar, vanilla bean seeds and pod, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring occasionally, for 20–25 minutes, or until the mixture begins to get a golden honey color. Remove from the heat and let cool, stirring occasionally. Refrigerate in 2 half-pint jars or in 1 pint jar.
