Poached Eggs on Whole Wheat

    Description

    A great way to start off the New Year is with a light but filling breakfast. Poached eggs on whole wheat. Yum!

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups Water
    • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
    • 1 whole Egg
    • 1 slice Whole Wheat Or Gluten Free Bread

    Preparation

    Note: the eggs need to be new. Obviously they can’t be completely fresh unless you have chickens.

    In a pot, bring the water and the vinegar to a boil. While you are doing this, start toasting your bread in your toaster or with your preferred method. Break an egg into a bowl.

    Slide the egg into the boiling water and let it cook for two minutes. With a slotted spoon, lift out the egg and pat it on a paper towel to remove some of the water.

    Place the egg onto the slice of toast.
