Description
Quesadilla Salvadoreña is a rich, delightful, and sweet cheese bread or pound cake from El Salvador. Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee!
Ingredients
- 1-½ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- ½ cups Milk
- 4 Eggs, Separated
- 1-½ cup Rice Flour
- 1-½ teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1-½ cup Sugar
- ½ cups Sour Cream
- 1 cup Melted Butter
- ¼ cups Sesame Seeds For Sprinkling
Preparation
Mix Parmesan cheese with milk until combined. Set aside.
In a bowl, beat egg whites until you have soft peaks. One by one, add yolks, beating continuously. Set aside.
In another bowl, sift rice flour and baking powder. Stir in sugar. Add egg mixture and mix until incorporated. Add sour cream, butter, and the Parmesan cheese and milk mixture. Mix well.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare a 9×13 inch dish by flouring and buttering it lightly. Pour the mixture inside and spread it evenly. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.
Bake for about 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
