Description

One of the great things about this recipe is you can find the Oak Leaf wine in “Sweet Red” at Wal-Mart for $2.77! As you can tell, only the finest and most exclusive ingredients will do when it comes to our treasured family recipes. If you can’t find a bottle of Oak Leaf, just choose your favorite sweet red wine. Keep in mind the wine will soak in the flavors of the rum, sugar and juice so don’t go too sweet or too expensive.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Orange Juice, Not With Calcuim
  • 2 cups Welch’s Black Cherry Grape Juice, Not Cocktail
  • 1 bottle (200ml Size) Rum
  • 1 bottle (750ml Size) Oak Leaf “Sweet Red” Wine
  • 2 whole Lemons
  • 2 whole Limes

Preparation

In advance, chill all ingredients. Stir sugar, orange juice and grape juice together in a pitcher until sugar dissolves. Gradually add the rum and wine, tasting as you go. Finish by adding the juice and pulp of one lemon and one lime, adding more to taste if desired. Serve over ice and garnish with sliced lemon and lime. Leftover sangria can be stored in a covered glass jar for a few days in the refrigerator.
