Description
A traditional, Southern sweet tea with a twist of fresh lime.
Ingredients
- 2 quarts Water
- 8 Individual-size Tea Bags
- 1-½ cup Sugar
- 6 Limes, Juiced Or Squeezed
- 8 sprigs Mint, To Serve (optional)
Preparation
In a 4-quart sauce pan or large tea kettle, boil water and tea bags together. After boiling, turn off the heat and let the mixture steep for 5 minutes.
Add sugar to a 1-gallon tea pitcher. Next, add the boiled tea (remove the tea bags first). Add enough drinking water to equal 1 gallon of tea. Add lime juice. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Serve over ice and garnish with mint sprigs if desired. Best served very, very cold.
