Description
This grown-up milkshake features roasted strawberries and vanilla ice cream cut with a generous splash of bourbon. Happy drinking!
Ingredients
- 1 pound Fresh Strawberries
- ¼ cups Sugar, Plus 1 Tablespoon Sugar, Divided Use
- 1-½ teaspoon Pure Vanilla, Divided Use
- ½ cups Whole Milk
- ¼ cups Bourbon
- 3 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
- Chocolate Shavings For Garnish
- Whipped Cream, For Garnish
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375 F. Remove stems then slice strawberries in half. Place in an oven-safe baking dish and top with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Roast for 25 minutes. Remove from oven. Let berries cool completely.
In a blender, blend cooled strawberries, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, milk and bourbon. Add ice cream and blend as your final step (you want the milkshake to be cold and frosty, so adding the ice cream last will help with that).
Pour into large cups or mugs. Garnish with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. (I shaved my own chocolate using a Hershey’s bar and vegetable peeler, although you can also find it in some grocery stores.)
