Description

When we made this Salted Dulce de Leche Hot Chocolate, it reminded me so much of Starbucks hot chocolate. And DIY Starbucks is like my favorite thing to do. Honestly, what is not to like—it was heavenly and it only took a couple of minutes from start to finish.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Dulce De Leche
  • 1-¼ cup Milk (we Used Skim)
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Fleur Se Del
  • FOR THE WHIPPED CREAM (optional):
  • ½ cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar

Preparation

In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the dulce de leche. Whisk in the milk and cocoa powder until combined and smooth. Whisk in the salt next. Heat until warm.

Meanwhile, prepare whipped cream (optional). In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, whip, on medium-high speed, heavy cream and sugar until soft peaks form. Be careful not to over-beat.

Serve hot chocolate immediately topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a garnish of dulce de leche or a dusting of cocoa powder. Or both!
