Description
Sausage, mascarpone and mozzarella cheese blend together on top of a crisp toasted slice of bread for a savory appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 whole Artisan Baguette
- 3 Italian Sausage Links
- 5 ounces, weight Mascarpone Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon Fennel Seeds
- 1 pinch Salt
- ½ cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Fresh Chopped Parsley, For Garnish (optional)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Slice bread into ½” slices.
Remove casings from sausages by slicing down the length and removing the meat inside. Place meat in a bowl and crumble with a fork. Add mascarpone cheese, seeds and salt to bowl and mix evenly.
Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet. Using a knife (I used an offset knife) spread sausage mixture over bread. Top with a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella.
Bake for 15 minutes. Remove pan from oven and top each piece of bread with parsley. Best served warm.
