Simple Shepherd’s Pie

This quick, comfort food is so easy to make for your family. It is so rich and flavorful and will please even the pickiest eaters!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Russet Potatoes
  • 3 ounces, weight Butter
  • 1-¼ cup Milk
  • Salt And Pepper
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1  Shallot, Chopped
  • ¾ cups Peas
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Garlic
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 2 Tablespoons Teriyaki Sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400ºF. Peel and chop potatoes. Add to boiling water and cook until soft, about 15 minutes. Mash potatoes with butter, milk and add salt and pepper to taste.

In a large skillet, cook ground turkey in oil. Add shallot, peas and garlic. Cook uncovered for about 10 minutes. Add chicken broth, teriyaki sauce and flour. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Continue cooking for 5 more minutes.

When sauce is thickened, transfer mixture to a baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes. Cook for 25 minutes. Enjoy!
