Description
Rich, sweet and amber-hued, this slow cooker Apple Butter is perfectly spiced with nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.
Ingredients
- 6 pounds Apples
- 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- 2 cups Light Brown Sugar
- ¼ cups Apple Cider
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cloves
- ½ Tablespoons Ground Nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoons Salt
- 3 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
- ¼ teaspoons Dried Orange Peel
Preparation
Peel core and slice apples. Keep apples in bowl of water, ice and ½ cut lemon. This will help keep apples from browning.
Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker set to low. Cook on low for 10–13 hours until apples are a deep brown color. Allow to cook before blending until smooth. Store in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
