Ingredients
- FOR THE DOUGHNUTS:
- 1 cup Flour
- ⅓ cups Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- ¼ teaspoons Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoons Salt
- ⅓ cups Milk
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tablespoon Melted Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Pure Maple Syrup
- 10 whole Fresh Strawberries
- 2 teaspoons Seedless Strawberry Jam
- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 3 cups Powdered Sugar
- ½ teaspoons Salt
- ½ teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
- ½ cups Cold Milk
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a standard 6-doughnut pan with non-stick baking spray.
To make doughnuts combine dry doughnut ingredients (flour through salt on the above list) in a large bowl and whisk together. Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add in milk, egg, butter, and maple syrup. Stir until well combined.
Rinse and hull the strawberries. In a food processor combine strawberries and jam and pulse until smooth. Stir strawberry mixture into doughnut mixture, starting with two-thirds of it. Batter should be wet, but not runny. Add rest of strawberry mixture if dough is not wet.
Put dough into a pastry bag or plastic bag and snip approximately 1-inch off the corner. Pipe the batter into each well of your prepared doughnut pan, reserving extra batter.
Bake for 7-9 minutes until doughnuts spring back when touched. Let cool five minutes and turn onto a cooling rack to cool completely. Spray pan again and continue with the rest of batter until all doughnuts have been made.
While doughnuts are cooling, make glaze. To make glaze, sift powdered sugar into a medium/large bowl and stir all remaining glaze ingredients in until smooth.
When doughnuts are cooled dip each into the glaze (dip twice if desired) and place back on cooling rack to let glaze set. When glaze has set enjoy!
