Description

This is a delicious savory fondue that pairs well with a crusty bread or Granny Smith apples. Yum!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE FONDUE:
  • 1 cup White Wine
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic, Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 8 ounces, weight Swiss Cheese, Shredded
  • 8 ounces, weight Gruyere Cheese, Shredded
  • 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • FOR DIPPING:
  • 1 loaf (1 Lb. Size) French Bread, Cubed
  • 2 whole Granny Smith Apples, Cored And Sliced

Preparation

1. Simmer wine, garlic and lemon juice in a fondue pot over medium-high heat for one minute.
2. Add Swiss cheese, Gruyere cheese, and flour into a Ziploc bag and shake. Add mixture into the fondue pot 1/4 at a time.
3. Stir after each addition to incorporate until cheese is melted.
4. Serve with bread cubes and apple slices.

Notes:
1. For those of you who don’t want to use wine (or quite frankly don’t happen to have a mere 1 cup of it laying around unused), you can substitute white grape juice.
2. You can also substitute lime juice for the lemon juice.
