Description
The Barfly Cocktail. Think of a tequila sunrise and then think better, tastier!
Ingredients
- FOR THE MINT SIMPLE SYRUP:
- ½ cups Sugar
- ½ cups Water
- ½ cups Mint Leaves
- FOR THE COCKTAIL:
- 8 ounces, fluid Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
- 2 ounces, fluid Lemon Juice
- 1 ounce, fluid Grenadine
- 2 ounces, fluid Tequila
- 2 drops Bitters
- 1 Tablespoon Chambord Liqueur
- 2 Tablespoons Mint Simple Syrup
- 2 sprigs Mint, For Garnish
Preparation
For the mint simple syrup:
Stir together the sugar, water and mint in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and let boil for 1 minute, while stirring. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and let cool for thirty minutes. Pour through a fine sieve and keep in the fridge until you need it.
For the cocktail:
Fill a shaker with ice and add in all the cocktail ingredients (except mint sprigs) over top. Stir. Pour into 2 ice-packed cocktail glasses. Garnish with the fresh mint.
