Description
Fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil bring so much flavor to this easy tomato pizza recipe. Use up those extra summer tomatoes!
Ingredients
- 1 Pizza Crust Of Choice (see Notes)
- 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2 Tomatoes, Sliced Thin
- 8 ounces, weight Fresh Mozzarella, Sliced
- 6 Basil Leaves
Preparation
Make your favorite pizza crust according to the recipe directions. Spread out on a piece of parchment paper and bake at 400ºF for 8–10 minutes directly on the oven rack.
Remove from oven and coat crust with olive oil. Layer tomatoes and mozzarella on top. Finish with the basil leaves.
Bake directly on the oven rack again for 8–10 minutes, or until crust starts to brown and cheese becomes bubbly. Slice and serve.
Notes:
• The pizza crusts I recommend are Fathead crust, Simple Mills Pizza Dough, and The Pioneer Woman’s pizza crust.
• If you want to use shredded mozzarella, put the shredded mozzarella on the pizza after the olive oil and then top with tomatoes and basil.
