Description

Delicious and moist chocolate sheet cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 stick Butter
  • ½ cups Crisco Shortening
  • 1 cup Water
  • 4 Tablespoons Cocoa
  • ½ cups Buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 whole Eggs

Preparation

Mix flour, sugar, salt and baking soda in a bowl and set aside. In a pan over medium heat, combine butter, shortening, water, and cocoa. Bring to a boil. Pour over flour mixture and add buttermilk, vanilla, and eggs. Mix well.

Pour into a greased 9×13 sheet cake pan. Bake at 350ºF for 25 minutes. Let cool.

If desired, top with chocolate frosting and pecans or almonds for garnish.
