Yummy Black Bean Hummus

Description

A great party dip made in the fashion of traditional hummus without the chickpeas and with a Mexican flair.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Black Beans
  • 1  Green Onion
  • ½ cups Tahini (sesame Paste) Not As Hard To Find As You Think
  • 2 teaspoons Chopped Garlic
  • ¼ cups Cilantro Fresh Or More If You Really Like It, Like Me!
  • 2 teaspoons Crushed Red Pepper
  • ¾ cups Sour Cream ( Low Fat Is What We Used)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

Preparation

Open and drain the cans of black beans. Rinse beans under cold water, drain them and place in a food processor. Add green onion and tahini and process until coarsely chopped. Add garlic, cilantro and red pepper. Process until mixture reaches a smooth consistency.

Remove mixture from food processor and transfer to a mixing bowl. Add sour cream, salt and pepper and mix until well combined and sour cream is incorporated.

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Enjoy with pretzel flats, tortilla chips or sliced pita bread that you’ve warmed in the oven.
