Description
So much better than store-bought onion dip!
Ingredients
- 2 strips Thick Bacon, Chopped
- 2 whole Large Onions, Sliced Thin
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Thyme Leaves
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 dashes Cayenne Pepper
- 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
Preparation
In a large skillet, saute the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and lower the heat to medium-low.
Add the onions, thyme, salt and cayenne to the skillet and saute in the bacon drippings for 10-12 minutes, until dark but not burned. Stir occasionally.
Once dark, remove the onions from the heat to cool. Place the cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and honey in a food processor. Pulse until smooth. Put the mixture into a serving bowl.
Mix the onions into the cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with the reserved bacon pieces and serve with chips or cut veggies.
