Description

Nothing says summer better than a piece of cold watermelon and a glass of cold lemonade. In this post, I am combining my love for watermelon and lemonade to make this delicious Watermelon Lemonade.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE SIMPLE SYRUP:
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • FOR THE WATERMELON LEMONADE:
  • 4 cups Cold Water
  • 1 cup Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 6 cups Watermelon, Seedless
  • 8 leaves Mint

Preparation

For the simple syrup, heat sugar and water in a small saucepan on low until sugar is dissolved completely. The sugar will go from cloudy to clear once it is dissolved.

For the watermelon lemonade, add cold water to a pitcher. Pour the simple syrup into the pitcher. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Puree the watermelon in a food processor or blender. Strain the watermelon puree with a fine mesh. You should be left with 4 cups of watermelon juice.

Add the watermelon juice to the pitcher. Break up mint leaves and add to the pitcher. Stir well and enjoy or refrigerate.
