Description
This is Uncle Alec’s recipe, written on a slip of paper dated 12/24/43. It’s right strong and really delicious.
Ingredients
- 10 whole Eggs, Separated
- ½ pints Rye Whiskey
- ½ pints Brandy
- ¼ pints Dark Rum
- ¼ pints Light Rum
- ¾ cups Sugar
- 1-½ quart Whole Milk
- 1 pint Whipping Cream
- Nutmeg, To Sprinkle On Top
Preparation
Separate egg whites from yolks.
Beat the yolks until stiff. While still beating, slowly add half of the liquor. This must be done slowly or the alcohol will cook the eggs.
Dissolve the sugar in whole milk. Pour in yolk and liquor mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff. Whip half the cream and combine egg whites and cream.
Add the remainder of liquor and other half of cream.
Sprinkle with nutmeg to taste.
