Description

A wonderful side dish or appetizer for a fancy dinner party.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces, weight Thin Asparagus, Tough Ends Trimmed, Rinsed And Dried
  • ½ sticks Sweet Cream Butter, Melted
  • 1 whole Fresh Lemon, Zest And Juice
  • 8 ounces, weight Crescent Dough
  • Grated Cheese For Garnish – Optional

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Prepare 2 nonstick baking sheets.

Melt butter in the microwave. Add lemon zest and juice, stir well.

Dust your work surface with flour and roll out crescent dough as thin as possible without breaking the dough. Cut strips. Wrap strips of dough around each asparagus spear, starting at the thicker end (see note below). Repeat with remaining asparagus and dough.

Brush lemon butter over wrapped asparagus. Transfer to sheet pans and bake until golden brown, about 12–14 minutes. Start checking at the 10-minute mark.

Remove from oven, top with grated cheese if desired, and serve as an appetizer or side dish. These are delicious!

Note: You will twist dough several times to cover asparagus from end to end but not completely—asparagus will still be visible.
