Description
Prosciutto Wrapped Poached Plums are a lovely choice for summer entertaining. These seasonal bites are a breeze to prepare and pair so elegantly with wine (especially if you serve the same wine you poached the plums in).
Ingredients
- 1 cup Red Wine
- ¼ cups Sugar
- 1 Handful Assorted Fresh Herbs
- 1 strip (2-inch Size) Lemon Peel
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 Plums, Halved, Pitted And Sliced Into Wedges
- 8 slices Prosciutto, Halved
Preparation
Bring red wine, sugar, herbs, lemon zest and salt to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until sugar dissolves, then add plums and continue to cook for about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Strain plums from poaching liquid and allow to cool completely.
Wrap each plum with a piece of prosciutto and serve.
