A few unique ingredients make this quiche stand out in a crowd!
Ingredients
- 1 whole Medium Onion, Chopped
- 1 whole Red Pepper, Chopped
- Butter For Sautéing
- 4 strips Bacon, Crisp (or Any Other Smoked Meat)
- 1 whole Large Tomato, Chopped
- 1 package Puff Pastry (or At Least 500 G)
- 6 whole Large Eggs (about 1 1/2 Cups)
- ½ cups Shredded Cheese Of Choice, Heaping
- ½ cups Heavy Cream
- ¼ cups Sour Cream
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- ½ teaspoons Chipotle Pepper Powder
- Parsley For Serving (optional)
Preparation
The puff pastry creates the super flaky crust and the addition of sour cream makes the eggs even richer. Then the dash of chipotle adds an underlying smoky flavor.
Notes:
You may only need half of the puff pastry for one pie. I used about 500 grams for one pie. (I’m not sure what the exact measurements are of the puff pastry packages in the States.)
If you use a smoked meat other than bacon, there is no need to cook it first.
Quiche is really a blank slate for any combination of ingredients you love. Any harder foods (potatoes, onions, etc.) should be softened by saut
