BELGIAN WAFFLE RECIPE

Belgian waffles or waffles (they are thicker), or gaufres (as you prefer to call them... ) are typical delights from the northern European area, as the name of the recipe suggests, particularly the regions of Belgium and neighboring areas, though they are now widely known and consumed all over the world.

Ingredients
- 200g of flour
- 4 eggs
- 100 g of sugar
- 60 g of butter
- 1 sachet of vanillin
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
- Take the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. The egg whites should be stiff. Melt the butter in a small saucepan without burning or browning it too much, then remove from the heat and set aside to cool. In a mixing bowl, combine the egg yolks and sugar, then gradually add the melted butter and thoroughly combine everything. Also, carefully fold in the whipped egg whites using a spatula. Now stir in the salt, vanilla, and flour. Knead the mixture until it is uniform and homogeneous.
- Heat the “Due Torri” waffle mold on both sides over low heat, or turn on the electric waffle iron and butter the inside. Pour the batter into the center with a ladle. Cook for 34 minutes, then transfer to a tray as soon as they are done. Finally, dust with powdered sugar and fill with maple syrup, jam, or your favorite cream! They are delicious as a snack for kids or as a dessert!
