In this recipe, we'll look at a classic among meat second courses, a special dish suitable for a variety of social occasions: braised beef! Braised beef in red wine is a full-bodied and succulent dish that is relatively simple to prepare (even if it takes a long time to cook).

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of beef 250 g of tomato puree

  • 150 ml of red wine
  • Extra virgin olive oil to taste

Instructions

    1. To begin preparing the braised beef, begin by cleaning the vegetables: peel the carrots, celery stalk, and onion. Then cut everything into bite-sized pieces
    2. Allow a small amount of oil to heat in a saucepan. Place the beef on top and brown it well on both sides (it will take you about 10 minutes)
    3. Wet it with red wine at this point and wait for the alcohol to evaporate. Then add the vegetables, cut into chunks, and season with salt, pepper, tomato sauce, and spices to taste. Cover the pot, reduce the heat to low, and cook the braised meat for 1 hour and a half to 2 hours. Check and turn the piece of beef on a regular basis
    4. When the meat is done, remove it from the cooking juices and allow it to cool before cutting it into thin slices
    5. Transfer the cooking sauce to the blender and blend until it is thick and homogeneous. Pour this sauce into the pan just before serving, adding a few more spices and a drizzle of oil if necessary. Then, add the beef slices to the sauce to heat them up and flavor them.
    6. Serve your braised beef while it is still hot!
