  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 125g butter
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 cup sifted yeast flour


    1. In a large saucepan, combine the first five ingredients.
    2. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a low heat for 3 minutes.
    3. Allow to cool slightly.
    4. Stir in the eggs and flour thoroughly.
    5. Pour into an 8-inch greased cake pan.
    6. Bake for 50 minutes at 180°C.
