Ingredients

  • 300 - 400 grams of sponge cake (or leftovers of cake, donuts, muffins, panettone, pandoro, colomba, dry sweets, biscuits ect)
  • 1 large spoonful of apricot jam or flavor of your choice for every 100 g of cake
  • 1 abundant spoonful of Nutella for every 100 gr of cake
  • 300 gr of dark chocolate or white or milk chocolate
  • sticks for cake pops
  • chopped pistachios or almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts (2 - 3 tablespoons)
  • coconut flour (2 - 3 tablespoons)
  • chocolate sprinkles (2 - 3 tablespoons)
  • colored sugars (2 - 3 tablespoons)
  • flaked almonds (2 - 3 tablespoons)

Instructions

    1. To begin, choose the crumbled base for the cake pops. In this case, I divided the dough into three 100-gram bowls.
    2. The first contains Nutella, the second apricot jam, and the third strawberries.
    3. By combining the contents, I was able to create three distinct flavors! Knead the dough thoroughly until it is compact and does not crumble.
    4. If the dough calls for it, you can add another pinch of jam or Nutella without overdoing it!
    5. You can make only one flavor if you prefer.
    6. Make balls about 3 cm in diameter from each dough. Roll them up with your hands like meatballs!

    11. Place in the freezer for 10 - 15 minutes or the refrigerator for 1 hour.
    12. Resting in the fridge is essential because the sticks with the melted chocolate tip will stick immediately! As a result, the balls must be cold and hard.
    13. Meanwhile, in a bain-marie, melt the chocolate until it is shiny and smooth.
    14. When the balls are cool enough to handle, dip 1 cm of the stick into the melted chocolate and skewer the 1 cm cake pop immediately.
    15. Place them on a serving dish as you make them.
    16. Then place in the fridge for another 30 minutes to harden.
    17. In the meantime, reheat the chocolate and prepare the decorations.
