PEARS IN RED WINE RECIPE

These pears in red wine are one of those simple and classic recipes to make; all you need is a good wine and you can indulge yourself at dessert time; it is also very quick to make; the cooking time is the longest. These Pears can be served warm or at room temperature. After it has been refrigerated for a couple of days. I hope you enjoy this classic dessert as much as I do.

Ingredients

  • 6 or 7 peras
  • 1 cup of sugar ( 200 grs)
  • 750 ml of red wine (can be cabernet or merlot)
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 piece of orange peel
  • 1 piece of lemon peel
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

    1. We begin by peeling the pears, leaving the stick behind. Reserve.
    2. The sugar, wine, orange and lemon peels, cloves, and cinnamon were then combined in a pot. We place the pears whole after the sugar has dissolved.
    3. Cook for about 35 minutes over low heat, covered. Allow to cool in the pot.
    4. The juice is then filtered. We serve a sliced pear with juice.
