Green bean okazu


Growing up, this was my favorite meal. Because of the sweet sauce, it's a quick and easy way to get picky kids to eat green beans. It's delicious whether served with rice or on its own.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup of water
Instructions
- cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until evenly browned; drain excess fat.
- Add 1 cup of water and the green beans. Cook, covered, for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
- Cook for 5 minutes, uncovered, with sugar and soy sauce.
